Inspired by Barnett Newman’s masterpiece (Who's Afraid of Red, Yellow and Blue?), and as a pretext for an essentially chromatic journey, we allowed ourselves to be guided in our choice of works by the three colours floating on the supple surface of the Belgian flag – black, yellow and red. This exhibition celebrates the fiftieth anniversary of Sotheby’s in Belgium by bringing together some of the great names in modern and contemporary art, from Belgium and beyond.
