Paloma Cabeza's colourful photographs are like hyper-realistic paintings, full of lightness and joie de vivre. The Spanish-born, Brussels-based photographer has chosen different seaside locations as the subjects for her series, PasteBeach. Overexposed colours, shots taken when the sun is most vertical, elimination of contrasts, low-angle angles, deliberate simplicity of composition - what might be considered technical irregularities give rise to images that transport the viewer into a world where the boundary between reality and dream dissolves.
