Public space seems status quo and taken for granted. Or isn't it? Vloeistof dancers engage with the environment to explore this. The dance intervention We Are In This Together is a poetic response that amazes you, sometimes upsets you, but always broadens your view. A cycle path crossing a footpath, that vagrant always sitting there on that bench, a wastebasket with coffee cups next to it on the ground.... So obvious that you almost don't see it anymore. But obvious it is not: you and I make public space through our presence, attention and behaviour. This dance invasion looks at your environment, the people in it, and lets you explore where it chafes. Do you take the space for granted, or do you want to change it? The 5 Vloeistof dancers claim space, challenge, zoom in on details. They swarm among passers-by and visitors. Constantly communicating wordlessly with each other and with their surroundings. They interact, cross paths, create breathing spaces and vantage points. Driven by live electronic music, the environment is constantly changing. What we think we see has changed in the next moment. We Are In This Together is a typical Vloeistof experience where the audience naturally becomes part of the performance. The dancers draw the attention of the audience and passers-by to the surroundings and they use everything available in the public space. Benches, rubbish bins, bollards, etc, become part of the performance and the dancers make you look at them in a different way. We Are In This Togehter is a performance for young and old.
