The Brussels artist of Russian origin Sasha Drutskoy created the work Rencontre à la porte dorée (Meeting at the Golden Gate) especially for the Chapel of Boondael.
Composed of eight paintings assembled in a triptych, the work presents the romantic encounter of a couple, surrounded by scenes that predict and contravene it.
Sasha Drutskoy thinks of painting as a catalyst of experiences that can become an instrument of sharing and reconciliation. He adds “It is perhaps in this sense, to quote Dostoevsky, that beauty will save the world. »
